KE-QSTCC launches its advisory council


On Wednesday, January 31, The Korea-Europe Quantum Science Technology Cooperation Center (KE-QSTCC) held a kick off meeting of its advisory council.


The advisory council is composed of 13 Korean experts from 10 different countries, such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Israel, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, Spain and Czechia. And the council will be led by KIM Myung-shik, a well-known quantum physicist and a professor of Imperial College London.

The launching event was also attended by the board members of KE-QSTCC, including the Director General of the KERC. And Korean Ambassador to the EU also participated the event to celebrate the launch of advisory council.

Each expert presented state of play of Quantum technology research and policy in their respective countries. Also participants discussed how to improve Korea-Europe cooperation in quantum technology.

The advisory group plays the role of advising on international cooperation policies and projects related to quantum science and technology in Europe and reviewing report, information and data produced by the cooperation center.

A representative from the QSTCC said, “The advisory council is expected to serve as a contact point in revitalizing the international cooperation ecosystem between Korea and Europe.”

The KE-QSTCC in Brussels identifies and connects partners so that Korean industry, academia and research institutes can collaborate with them. The center provides full-cycle support for cooperative projects.
