European Climate Adaptation Platform의 10가지 케이스 스터디는 극심한 기후변화 및 해수면 상승 등의 서서히 발생하는 피해들을 해결하고 기후변화에 적응하기 위해 이미 유럽에서 실행되고 있는 실험들을 다루고 있음. 이런 실험 현황 및 결과의 공유는 기후변화에 대한 예측 및 관찰을 기반으로 새로운 기술을 개발 가능성 등에 대한 의식을 확산하는 효과를 가져올 것으로 기대됨. 또한 실험을 진행하는 연구기관 및 기업 등의 경험을 공유함으로써 관련분야 연구기관 등의 네트워크 및 협력을 강화하는 계기가 될 것으로 전망됨.
EU는 기후변화 적응 정책 및 사업을 전분야에 걸쳐 개발/확장하고 있음. 케이스스터디는 직접적인 도입을 위한 각 지역의 정책 결정에 많은 도움이 될 수 있음. 또한 케이스 스터디의 실험 결과 등은 정책 목표 설정 뿐 아니라 도시의 웰빙, 도시재개발, 서식지 복구, 생물다양성보존 등과 같은 공익을 실현할 수 있도록 지원함.
