In the era of digital fashion where clothes are sold and purchased in virtual spaces, FNS Holdings, a fashion metaverse mall platform startup based in South Korea, revealed fearless aspiration to foster a global platform with digital fashion content targeting young people.
A prolonged COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the introduction of virtual experience shopping based on new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). Online shopping malls in South Korea provide virtual fitting services that allow shoppers to try on clothes to check one or more of size, fit, or style.
3D fitting rooms use computer-generated 3D images to create an experience similar to that seen in a virtual world computer game. In the virtual space, avatars can freely communicate and interact with each other or engage in activities together.
FNS Holdings provides a service that enables fashion companies and individuals to produce and distribute digital fashion content. The company's fashion metaverse platform, FASSKER, offers a new direction for digital fashion with VR stores, 3D showrooms and AR lookbooks.
FNS Holdings vowed to speed up its global business expansion after the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Japan's Digital Hollywood Corporation, which operates a school specializing in the field of digital content such as 3D video, animation and media art.
"We will actively expand a global network using FASSKER's digital fashion content with digital Hollywood talents from more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe, and North America," an unnamed FNS Holdings official said in a statement on July 28.
The partnership would help secure Japanese digital content and IP through an exchange of technologies, FNS Holdings said, adding that both sides would jointly research and produce new digital fashion content to be introduced at FASSKER's fashion metaverse mall.
The South Korean startup aims to establish a digital fashion technology infrastructure and provide global digital fashion content that can be used in various ways in a space where a virtual world and reality coexist. FASSKER will allow fashion designers to take on free challenges without restrictions on production in a virtual space by taking advantage of growing virtual fashion markets that create a sustainable fashion metaverse ecosystem.
Digital fashion integrates information and communication technologies into designing, marketing, distribution and sales. Social media has become a strong marketing tool in the fashion industry with fashion bloggers or influencers showing clothing from various brands to connect consumers and brands globally across different platforms.
