MSIT-KOFAC to prepare “Plan to Systemize R&E Support for Young Talented Scientists”

The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT, Minister: Lim Hyesook) and Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity (KOFAC, President: Cho Yulrae) jointly prepared and plans to implement the “Plan to Systemize Research & Education (R&E) Support for Young Talented Scientists,” in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the R&E program for young talent in science.

The R&E program was first initiated in 2002, with the purpose to promote the self-directed learning among young talent in the field of science. In response to a growing need for the support to nurture young talent in science, the Plan to Systemize R&E Support for Young Talented Scientists has subsequently been prepared.

This new Support Plan presents the three directions along with ten action plans. The three direction set out in the Plan are i) to diversify and specialize R&E activities, ii) to create a process-focused R&E environment where young talent can take on challenges, and iii) to preparing and systemize a follow-up support for R&E activities.
