To maintain a high level of online security, a prominent South Korean scientific research institute will develop artificial intelligence (AI) which can detect and counteract cyber attacks in real-time. Currently, it's hard to respond quickly to stop simultaneous and coordinated attacks as online security is often maintained manually by human operators, "We will fully utilize stacked data and experience to create an AI cybersecurity solution," the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), a state-funded research institute in Seoul, said in a statement on Friday. The institute said its cybersecurity AI would detect and counteract against cyber terrorism in real-time by 2020.
