U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is scheduled to visit South Korea next week and she is expected to visit the LG Science Park during her stay in the country.
The LG Science Park is home to the R&D arms of LG Group’s eight subsidiaries. She is likely to be accompanied by LG Chem vice president Shin Hak-chul and discuss global supply chain issues there. LG Chem is the largest shareholder in LG Energy Solution, the largest EV battery supplier in South Korea. LG Energy Solution is working closely with the United States by announcing a series of large-scale investment plans and rapidly expanding its business with GM. After the spinoff of LG Energy Solution, LG Chem is concentrating on EV battery materials such as precursors, cathode materials and separators as its new growth engines. SOURCE : BUSINESS KOREA
