MSIT to sign the renewed MoU with Argentina on ICT cooperation


The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT, Minister: Lee Jong-Ho) had a bilateral meeting with Argentina on July 28 at Seoul. The Second Vice Minister Park Yun Kyu of Science and ICT of Korea and Secretary Pablo Anselmo Tettamanti of Foreign Affairs of Argentina had a talk on ICT cooperation measures in the fields of 5G network and artificial intelligence technologies.

Vice Minister Park introduced the direction of Korea’s 5G+ strategy based on Korea’s 5G technology and infrastructure. He then shared major policies of artificial intelligence to enhance the mutual understanding and discussed cooperation measures of the field.

The signing ceremony of renewed MoU on ICT was held after the talk. It was the first renewal since the initial signing of 2004, and it covers the fourth industrial revolution technologies including IoT, AI, and 5G.

Vice Minister Park accentuated the cooperation opportunities to come in the areas of mutual interest, and added “We look forward to the robust cooperation between two countries in the field of information and communications technology”


MSIT to hold the 6th Field Conference on National Digital Agenda


The Second Vice Minister Park Yun Kyu of Science and ICT held the sixth Field Conference on National Digital Agenda on July 28 at ‘Radio Frequency Testbed’ located in Yongsan.

​Nine companies leading various digital technologies such as UAM, 6G, and low-orbit mobile communications attended the conference to discuss the measures to foster the future industries through public-private cooperation and government’s support. Participants mainly discussed the two methods which are ‘field-centred radio frequency regulation paradigm shift’ and ‘discovering and securing the future frequency’ in order to realize the national digital agenda.

Vice Minister Park emphasized the importance of discovering the demand of new radio frequency and distributing properly by breaking and updating the old regulations. He added “Amid the fierce global digital competition, it is important to understand the demand and trend of the future technologies to nurture related industries and secure nation’s competitiveness through public-private cooperation.”
