On July 25-26, the Korea-EU Research Centre (KERC) held the launching ceremony for the 2nd KERC Supporters.
한-EU 연구센터(KERC)는 지난 7월 25일(금)부터 26일(토)까지 양일간 제2기 KERC 서포터즈 출범식을 개최하였다. 이번 행사는 제1기 서포터즈 활동을 되돌아보고, 제2기의 공식적인 활동 시작을 알리는 의미 있는 자리였다.
제2기 KERC 서포터즈는 반도체·디스플레이, 이차전지, 첨단모빌리티, 첨단바이오, 우주항공·해양, 수소, 사이버보안, 인공지능, 차세대 통신, 첨단로봇·제조, 양자 등 한국의 12대 국가전략기술(CETs) 분야에서 활약 중인 유럽 7개국의 한국인 연구자 11명으로 구성되었다.
서포터즈들은 각자의 전문 분야와 국가에서의 정책 및 연구 동향에 대한 정보를 제공하고, 한국 과학기술의 우수성을 홍보하며, 한-EU 간 협력 증진, 차세대 한국인 연구자에 대한 경력 개발 및 멘토링 지원 등의 다양한 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
출범식에서는 KERC의 최근 활동이 소개되었으며, 제1기 서포터즈들이 지난 1년간의 활동 소감과 경험을 공유하고, 제2기 서포터즈에게 실질적인 조언과 노하우를 전달하는 시간이 마련되어 참석자 간 유대감을 형성하고, 향후 협력 확대를 위한 기반을 조성하는 자리가 되었다.
The Korea-EU Research Centre (KERC) held the launching ceremony for the 2nd KERC Supporters over two days, from Friday, July 25 to Saturday, July 26. The event served both as a reflection on the activities of the 1st term and as the official beginning of the 2nd term journey.
The 2nd KERC Supporters is composed of 11 Korean researchers based in seven European countries, all of whom are actively working in key areas aligned with Korea’s 12 Critical and Emerging Technologies (CETs) — including semiconductors and displays, secondary batteries, advanced mobility, cutting-edge biotech, aerospace and marine, hydrogen, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, next-generation communication, advanced robotics and manufacturing, and quantum technologies.
The Supporters will provide up-to-date information on policy and research trends in their respective scientific fields and countries. They are expected to promote Korea’s excellence in science and technology, foster Korea-EU research cooperation, and offer career development and mentoring support for young Korean researchers.
During the ceremony, recent activities of the KERC were presented. Former Supporters also shared their reflections and lessons learned, passing on valuable insights and practical advice to the 2nd term — promoting meaningful interaction and networking among participants, and laying the groundwork for sustained future collaboration.
